Our social commitment

Our original business as a wholesaler of marine raw materials showed us how important access to clean water is for humans, animals and plants. More and more often in our business environment we are confronted with finding alternative harvesting areas for our products due to water pollution. This costs us a lot of time and effort. But much worse is that species are disappearing and algae farmers are being deprived of their livelihood. If we now turn our gaze from the water to the land, an equally catastrophic picture emerges. Countless people around the world suffer from water shortages, poor sanitation and inadequate hygiene conditions. To help these people, The Purity Brand supports Viva con Aqua water projects worldwide.

Viva Con Agua

Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V. is a non-profit organization that promotes access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. To enable long-term access, Viva con Agua follows the WASH approach (WA = water, S = sanitation , H = hygiene). Currently, most projects are being funded on the African continent.

Why water?

Currently, around 2.2 billion people worldwide do not have regular access to clean drinking water. This corresponds to about 26% of the world’s population. 771 million people lack even any basic drinking water supply.[1] Lack of access to clean water promotes the spread of sometimes life-threatening diseases and also prevents access to education. With Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), the global community has set ambitious goals to improve the world’s water supply. You can find more on this topic here.
